In your Updater project - which creates our update config file - there are 2 places where we can gain some control over Windows Installer: it can be a silent installation, this case /qn flag is forwarded to Windows Installer. Our EXE file -> Auto Updater -> Windows InstallerĪuto Updater tells Windows Installer how the EXE should be installed, e.g. Double clicking on the EXE would directly start the installation by using Windows Installer, but in case of installing the same EXE by you Auto Updater is a bit different: If an executable is installed via Auto Updater, there is a let say bridge between our EXE file and Windows Installer.
